Sentinel Security Solutions
A full concept website designed and built to demonstrate what a premium armed response and security company website looks like when approached properly. Custom SVG logo, real stock photography with gradient masking, an interactive dispatch board UI, Joburg coverage zone grid, transparent pricing tiers, and a fully structured contact flow.
The private security industry in South Africa has one of the largest addressable markets on the continent, with over 16,000 registered security businesses and a sector valued at R87 billion. The vast majority of these companies have no website at all, or one that reflects none of the professionalism their on-the-ground operation represents. A homeowner or property manager searching for armed response in their suburb encounters generic, low-quality sites that undermine rather than build trust. The question we set out to answer: what does a genuinely premium security company website look like, and what would it take for CodeLab One to build it?
We built the full site on Next.js 14 with App Router and Tailwind CSS, deployed as a pure static site on Vercel with no database or serverless functions. The result has ten distinct sections: an emergency navigation strip at the top with the control room number, a sticky nav with the custom logo, the officer-photograph hero, a dispatch board UI, a credentials bar, a six-service grid with a CCTV camera image card embedded in the layout, a Johannesburg coverage zone grid, a three-step onboarding process with a real hallway photo, three pricing tiers, testimonials, an FAQ accordion with FAQPage JSON-LD schema, a WhatsApp-linked contact form, and a footer with the full CodeLab One attribution. Organization schema, a 1200x630 OG social card, robots.txt with all AI crawlers explicitly allowed, and a sitemap are all included.
- Designed a custom SVG logo mark from scratch: an angular shield with a geometric sentinel crossbar inside, reading as both a guard standing at post and a protection symbol. The identity led the rest of the design decisions.
- Chose a void-navy and gunmetal blue-steel palette rather than the default dark-and-red approach, using alarm red sparingly and purposefully at urgency moments only, to avoid the generic dark tech aesthetic.
- Built a hero section where a real patrol officer photograph fades into the dark background using a CSS gradient mask, creating a cinematic split without a hard border.
- Added a dedicated dispatch board section showing active patrol metrics and recent dispatch logs, giving the site a sense of real-time operational presence specific to the security industry.
- Structured six service pages with real, specific copy for each service type, including PSIRA compliance references, response time SLAs, and equipment specifications.
- Built interactive coverage zone cards showing Johannesburg suburbs with active, expanding, and commercial-only status, so visitors can immediately check whether they are covered.
- Priced transparently at three tiers with real rand amounts, because security clients in South Africa respond strongly to clarity over hidden-fee structures.
- Linked the footer to the CodeLab One security industry page, and the CL1 security industry page to the live demo, creating a closed contextual link loop for SEO.
- Full concept site live at concept-sentinel-security.vercel.app, HTTP 200, fully indexed
- Custom SVG logo designed and implemented, used across nav, footer, and OG image
- Zero em dashes anywhere in the codebase, consistent clean copy throughout
- Scroll-triggered animations using IntersectionObserver on all major sections
- FAQPage JSON-LD structured data implemented for Google and AI system parsing
- Closed SEO link loop: Sentinel links to CL1 security industry page, CL1 security page links to Sentinel demo
- Static build, no database, no ongoing cost beyond the existing Vercel Team plan
This concept build demonstrates CodeLab One's design range for the security industry specifically: from logo to dispatch board to coverage zone grid to pricing structure, built entirely from scratch with real copy, real stock photography, and a design identity purpose-built for the industry. Any armed response or security company looking at their current site and wanting something that reflects the professionalism of their operation can see exactly what is possible.
